Dr. Williston earned his PsyD from La Salle University in 2011. He completed his APA internship at Connecticut Valley Hospital, with rotations in forensic psychology and dialectical behavior therapy. He completed his psychology residency at John F. Kennedy Behavioral Health Center’s methadone clinic in Philadelphia. Prior to working at the Penn Collaborative, he worked exclusively in community mental health settings. He is passionate about bringing cognitive behavior therapy to underserved populations and specializes in the treatment of adults and adolescents with substance use challenges. His dissertation study attempted to increase intake attendance at a university-funded community clinic by means of an acceptance-based intervention. The results of this research were presented at the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and an article based on this study was published in Psychological Services.
