Social media has exploded into almost every area of public and private communication in previously unfamiliar ways.  Consequently, personal and professional boundaries in communication have been radically altered.  This workshop will provide guidance to professionals both staff and supervisors, for the use of social media intheir work and home environment.

 

Learning Objectives: 

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  • List the types of social media most commonly used and the levels of privacy for each type;
  • Cite court cases impacting social media use;
  • Outline the ethics and boundaries issues associated with social media; and,
  • Explore strategies for “safe” social media use.

 

Intended Audience: 

This introductory level course is designed for all professionals (behavioral health specialists, teachers, social workers, etc.).
