This workshop will provide a refresher on the underlying theory and techniques of Prolonged Exposure Therapy and further advance therapists’ skills when using Prolonged Exposure therapy for PTSD

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss the theory and techniques of PE
  2. Describe  problems often encountered in choosing index traumas and creating in vivo hierarchies
  3. Identify who is an appropriate candidate to receive PE
  4. Describe difficulties therapists can experience engaging clients in PE  (i.e., how to present treatment and how to address   avoidance)
  5. Discuss advanced imaginal exposure and processing of traumatic memories

Therapists trained in PE through the trauma initiative of CBH/DBHIDS.
