This introductory level course provides a description of the current spectrum of medications prescribed for children and adolescents with various behavioral health issues.  The program will also address the benefits, concerns, and other related issues

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of his session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe specific issues with psychopharmacology and children;
  • Cite best practice guidelines for medication uses with children and adolescents; and,
  • Identify the most common medications used with children and adolescents.
Intended Audience: 

This introductory level course, is designed for staff at all levels working in the children’s behavioral health system.  It is also appropriate for school staff and other child serving providers.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend entire presentation and complete a course evaluation in order to receive credits.
