Digital Health for Youth: Addressing Mental and Physical Well-Being in the Digital World

Youth spend a significant amount of time in the digital world, and at increasingly younger ages.  While there is a great deal of positive value in this digital world, including creative outlets and access to information, there is also cause for concern.  There has been a sharp decline in inter-personal interactions with peers and increasing mental health issues among young people.  This workshop will address these concerns and offer possible solutions.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of the training, participants will have:

  1.  Examined the mental health aspects of digital speech;
  2.  Explore the physical health aspects of the digital world;
  3.  Discussed the issues of decency and tolerance; and,
  4. Outlined strategies for promoting the physical and mental health of young people
Intended Audience: 

This introductory level course, is designed for all professionals (behavioral health specialists, teachers, social workers, etc.) who work with young people.  Parents are also welcomed.  There are no prerequisites for this program.

Participants must attend entire presentation and complete a course evaluation in order to receive credits.
