The curriculum is designed to build upon the skills learned in Effective Clinical Supervision Part I, and provides added tools to clinical supervisors in the areas of evaluation, feedback, identifying burnout/compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. Additionally, the curriculum  provides clinical supervisors with tools in managing the aforementioned challenges within the supervisory relationship.

Clinical supervision is an essential part of all clinical programs and is a key component in an evolving system of care.  Supervision is a skill, in and of itself, that takes time to be developed. Effective Clinical Supervision Part II will present tools for providing effective clinical supervision through

Learning Objectives: 
  • Identify 3 tools to build and sustain the supervisory alliance
  • List 2 types of feedback and 2 techniques to share feedback routinely and formally
  • List at least 3 elements of an effective professional development / training plan.                                         
  • Identify at least 3 signs of burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma
  • Outline at least 3 ways to respond to symptoms and promote self-care

 

Intended Audience: 

Those who have attended Effective Clinical Supervision Part 1 and who works in a supervisory role at a provider agency within the CBH network.  The curriculum  provides clinical supervisors with tools in managing the aforementioned challenges within the supervisory relationship.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend entire presentation and complete a course evaluation in order to receive credits.
