Designed for therapists currently trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF_CBT), this training is specific for implementation of TF_CBT with young children.  Participants will further enhance TF_CBT skills through didactic presentation and experiential exercises, including role plays and other active methods of integrating skills and knowledge of TF_CBT.  Emphasis will be placed on real life" scenarios, as all participants will be actively using TF_CBT in clinical practice.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of the presentation, the participant will be able to:

  • Practice skills in implementing TF_CBT components; with particular focus on clinical work with young children (ages 3-9 years)
  • Gain knowledge of effective strategies when using TF_CBT with young children (ages 3-9 years)
  • Develop knowledge and skill in implementing TF_CBT with the caregivers (parents, grandparents, custodial adult) of young children
  • Practice TF_CBT skills with particular focus on use with young children and their caregivers
