Prevention 101, Part 1: Mastering the Basics Prevention 101, Part 2: Case Study & Application

Prevention 101 is a 2-part training which provides a catalyst for understanding how primary prevention of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD) use and abuse is defined and implemented in Pennsylvania.  Part 1 provides an overview of prevention and its evolution, the data-driven decision making process, as well as the Spectrum of Prevention and the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF).  Part 2 expands on this knowledge and leads participants through the practical application of the SPF to case studies.  Participants must attend both Parts to obtain a certificate for Prevention 101.

Learning Objectives: 

All courses follow the respective DDAP curriculum, presented by DDAP-approved trainers.

Intended Audience: 

These courses are intended for those working in the ATOD system.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend entire presentation and complete a course evaluation to receive a certificate through the DDAP TMS.


Also all participants MUST have a user profile set up on the DDAP Training Management System (TMS) prior to attending the class.  Once there, please click on the "New User" link and follow the directions.  You only need to set up your profile once on the TMS system.  Should you have any trouble creating a profile or remembering your "user id" and "password", please call DDAP at 717-783-8200.  Per state regulations, no one will be allowed entrance into the course without a profile prior to the day of the training.
