The Community Resiliency Model (CRM): Introduction

The CRM was designed to support the creation of trauma responsive and resiliency-focused communities by offering a common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system. This easy to learn, user-friendly, skills-based model focuses on how individuals can restore or increase resilience even during challenges in order to bring their nervous system back into balance. Once individuals learn the model they can teach it to staff, peers, family members, neighbors.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Define the Resilience Zone
  • Identify their own Resilience Zone and how to use CRM© skills to widen that zone
  • Learn and practice three CRM skills to support well-being and regulation of the nervous system
