Trauma-focused assessment includes a process that is a brief, focused inquiry to determine whether an individual has experienced one or more traumatic events, has reactions to such events, and as a result has specific mental or behavioral health needs. This presentation will provide participants with training in trauma-focused assessment practices. The goal is to help providers identify children’s and families’ needs.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
1) Utilize THQ and CPSS to conduct trauma focused assessments;
2) Appraise child’s trauma history and current status of trauma symptoms;
3) Explain the impact of trauma and the rationale for the TF-CBT model.
Participants must attend entire training, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation in order to receive credit.
