Current research into the substance use and abuse of youth indicates there is a decrease in certain substances among youth and an increase in others. There has also been a real decline in the perception of risk from using a number of substances by youth. This workshop will look at research and emerging drug trends among youth, as well as the teenage brain and addiction.

Learning Objectives: 

1. Participants will examine recent research on drug trends among youth.
2. Participants will explore the use and impact of synthetic marijuana and other substances.

Intended Audience: 

Behavioral health agency staff working with adolescents who may meet criteria for substance use treatment.
