Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence-informed modular approach to help children, adolescents, adults, and families in the immediate aftermath of disaster and other crisis events. This 2-hour Intro PFA course will offer an introduction to basic emergency behavioral health information on normal reactions to disaster, and will teach the 8 Core Actions of Psychological First Aid.
1) Explain the difference between man-made and natural disasters;
2) Describe the effect of stress on people's reactions;
3) List two approaches to lower someone's stress level while providing PFA.
