Safety planning is an essential tool learned by advocates working to support survivors of domestic violence. For advocates who have created safety plans with survivors, sometimes the challenges that surface with a survivor can have us feeling unsure of our effectiveness and impact: “What questions about a survivor’s safety did I forget to ask about? Are there resources in the city I should have mentioned? Did I support the survivor to create the best safety plan possible?” This training is for professionals working with survivors interested in increasing safety planning skills, strengthening intuition and expertise, and accessing more creativity and presence working with survivors in tough situations. Participants will leave this training more prepared for challenges and confident in their ability to adapt in the moment while safety planning with survivors.
