This will be a training focused on serving transgender clients. We will give an overview of what it means to be transgender before moving into best practices specific to the field of social services and houselessness support in Philadelphia. We will cover day to day things you can do to serve transgender clients as well as Philadelphia trans affirming policies for advocacy. We will close out the session with case studies and a LGBTQ+ Philly specific referral guide book so that you can better connect your trans clients with supportive resources.

  • Learn trans affirming care and practice through case studies and discussions in breakout rooms.
  • Able to make trans affirming referrals for clients by utilizing a Philadelphia Specific LGBTQ resource referral manual

Participants must attend entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. Certificates of Attendance will be available to download from the Learning Hub once the evaluation is successfully submitted.
