Job Posting for Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Training Specialist
Specific Responsibilities:
The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Training Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing education events related to the treatment, service provision and recovery of people with behavioral health needs. This Training Specialist will utilize various skills and knowledge to provide trainings to staff working with persons who have substance use and/or mental health diagnoses. The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Training Specialist will also be expected to teach within his/her areas of expertise. This Training Specialist will serve as a member of the Student Assistance Program (SAP) K-12 training team. The Training Specialist will use his/her knowledge of the structure and function of the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbilities Services (DBHIDS) and other child-serving systems to facilitate group processes associated with adult continuing education. More specifically, duties included in this position are, but may not be limited to, the following:
***During COVID-19, this position is considered a hybrid position, working from both home and the office on certain days during the week. Applicants must have high speed internet, password protected WiFi, and a home designated workspace.
Essential Functions:
- Identify training needs/conduct focus groups to inform the DBHIDS training system
- Develop educational material on topics identified by system
- Teach, facilitate and provide supportive activities
- Learn and utilize basic online training formats
- Assist with the planning and implementing of various behavioral health
conferences
- Provide technical assistance to various behavioral health constituents
- Work with and provide training for identified community groups
- Being knowledgeable of and comply with various continuing education regulations and criteria
- Additional duties that may be assigned by the Program Director and/or the designee
Skills required:
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to develop training programs
- Ability to utilize virtual training platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a knowledge of group processes
Accountability:
The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Training Specialist position is supervised by the Program Director of the Behavioral Health Training and Education Network.
Position Requirements:
- Must have at least a Master’s degree with a strong clinical background; preference will be given to those candidates with an LSW, LPC, CPRP,
- Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in a behavioral health
- Must have experience writing, presenting, and/or facilitating presentation of educational materials
- Must have the ability to learn and independently use common presentation technology, including basic online presentation
- Must be willing to learn about the principles and methodology of recovery and resilience
- Must be able to work 37.5 hours per week
- Travel within and occasionally outside of Philadelphia
- Must be able to provide proof of Covid-19 full vaccination record
Physical Demands:
Sitting or standing for a minimum of two (2) hours. Bending, pushing, moving and lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment, reaching to retrieve and maintain files, hearing and speaking to exchange information.
The Consumer Satisfaction Team offers a starting salary of $56,500 – $58,000 (depending on education, qualifications, and experience) plus a comprehensive benefits package.
