About This Course
In recent years there has been a significant increase in the numbers of children experiencing anxiety disorders and major depression. Often, these conditions go undiagnosed and untreated, leading to further pain and difficulties for the young people involved. A major complication is young people…and the adults in their lives…are often unaware of what is happening to them. This workshop is a beginning in understanding anxiety and depression and what we can do to help our children
- Reviewed the current research on anxiety and depression;
- Examined the triggers of anxiety and depression in young people;
- Discussed gender differences in anxiety and depression; and,
- Outlined strategies and resources to improve adolescents’ mental health.
This introductory level course, is designed for all professionals (behavioral health specialists, teachers, social workers, etc.) who work with young people. Parents are also welcomed. There are no prerequisites for this program.
Participants must attend entire presentation and complete a course evaluation in order to receive credits.
