About This Course
The curriculum is designed to build upon the skills learned in Foundations of Clinical Supervision, and provides added tools to clinical supervisors in the areas of evaluation, feedback, identifying burnout/compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. Additionally, the curriculum provides clinical supervisors with tools in managing the aforementioned challenges within the supervisory relationship.
Clinical supervision is an essential part of all clinical programs and is a key component in an evolving system of care. Supervision is a skill, in and of itself, that takes time to be developed. This training will present tools for providing effective clinical supervision through exploration of the supervisory relationship and in discussion of the role of feedback and evaluation. Lastly, the training will offer strategies on working through burnout and compassion fatigue.
- Identify 3 tools to build and sustain the supervisory alliance
- List 2 types of feedback and 2 techniques to share feedback routinely and formally
- List at least 3 elements of an effective professional development / training plan.
- Identify at least 3 signs of burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma
- Outline at least 3 ways to respond to symptoms and promote self-care
