About This Course
This workshop will present some background and basic skills of applying multicultural principles in therapy and culturally responsive adaption of assessment and cognitive behavioral treatments. The following topics will be discussed 1) The rationale for integrating multicultural principles into cognitive behavioral therapies for anxiety disorders, 2) stressors that often impact mental health outcomes in marginalized groups, 3) How to broach the subject of culture in therapy, and 4) How cognitive interventions (e.g. cognitive restructuring) and behavioral interventions (e.g. exposure) can be used in culturally responsive way with clients who are experiencing culturally specific stressors.
1) Understand the rationale for cognitive behavioral therapies
2) Learn about some of the culturally specific stressors that often impact marginalized groups
This workshop targets clinicians at CBH provider agencies who are implementing EBPs
Participants must attend the entire live webinar session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation as provided in order to receive credit for completing the training.
