About This Course

Among various approaches to substance use and recovery, Harm Reduction aims to eliminate degrading stigma and meet the person where they are at. This introductory level course provides an overview of harm reduction history, philosophy, and practices. The presentation will include evidence-based harm reduction practices in working with a person or group with substance abuse disorders.

Learning Objectives: 

1. Describe the philosophy of harm reduction
2. List various ways harm reduction can be applied in practice
3. Identify the benefits of a harm reduction approach

Supervisory, management, and frontline staff at Behavioral Health Agencies
