(WEBINAR) LGBTQ+ Awareness: Creating a Welcoming and Affirming Environment

About This Course

This course is intended to increase awareness of how to create safe and affirming environments for individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. This course is intended to increase awareness of how to address behaviors that are not consistent with the expectations set by DBHIDS, The Practice Guidelines and TIP around creating trauma informed, safe and culturally diverse environments.

Learning Objectives: 

• Review terms and definitions related to LGBTQ+ identity
• Increase knowledge of LGBTQ+ populations
• Recognize assumptions and biases related to gender and sexuality
• Learn techniques to foster welcoming environments for LGBTQ+ individuals

Intended Audience: 

BH Staff

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All certificates will be emailed to participants within 30 business days of training.
