About This Course

This course is designed to define vicarious trauma and understand its impact on the helper professional. This webinar will explore sign and symptoms while identifying preventative strategies to intervene and decrease its impact.

Learning Objectives: 
  1. Define and discuss vicarious trauma (VT) as well as briefly review related conditions such as, secondary trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout.
  2. Review signs and symptoms of vicarious traumatization as well as the impact it has on helpers.
  3. Discuss applicable strategies for preventing and intervening with the symptoms of VT.

Participants must attend entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All certificates will be emailed to participants within 30 business days of training.
