(WEBINAR) Substance Use Disorders & Medication Misuse in Older Adults
About This Course
Individuals will learn prevalence and risk factors for substance use disorders and medication misuse, specific to the older adult population; translational gaps between research data and available interventions and treatments and future directions for growth in education and treatment for the older adult population.
a. Identify signs, symptoms and risk factors for substance use disorder in older adults.
b. Learn known prevalence rates of substance abuse across substances in older adults, and factors that contribute to under-identification and under-diagnosis.
c. Learn risk factors for medication misuse and intervention.
d. Explore options for treatment and intervention for older adults and how to assist older adults in rehabilitation and ongoing recovery.
