About This Course

Children and families are experiencing significant disruptions to their daily lives and routines due to COVID-19.  Children’s responses to stressful events are often different from adult responses and require thoughtful support from caregivers.  This webinar will explore appropriate conversations with children and youth of all ages about COVID-19, how to recognize and help children manage their stress responses, methods for maintaining effective contact with your clients, and resources for keeping families busy and active at home

Learning Objectives: 

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how to use developmentally appropriate language to discuss COVID-19 with children;
  • List at least two (2) methods to address children’s stress responses; and
  • Identify at least one (1) way to maintain client contact if traditional treatment is disrupted
