About This Course

Dr. Sandy Capaldi will present information on the various definitions of trauma, ways traumas are encountered, and trauma’s effects on the mind and body. Common reactions to trauma, along with a review of symptoms of PTSD will also be discussed. Finally, Dr. Capaldi will introduce an effective model of treatment for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure therapy.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of this training participants will be able to:
1. Recognize various types of trauma
2. Identify reactions to trauma, including posttraumatic stress disorder
