About This Course
This introductory level course provides a description of trauma and its impact on individuals seeking behavioral health & other human services. The prevalence of these issues is discussed and the course reviews the developmental, physiological, cognitive, and emotional results of experiencing of trauma for individuals. Up-to-date Information is provided on how individuals who have experienced trauma can remain affected, and how they present in behavioral health settings.
By the end of this training participants will be able to:
• Discuss research that examined the health and social effects of adverse childhood experiences over the lifespan;
• Discuss the comprehensive impact of trauma on individuals when traumatized;
• Describe the developmental, cognitive, emotional and behavioral results of trauma that can remain with individuals throughout their lives if trauma is not addressed

To receive CEUs participants must attend the entire training, participate in activities and complete the posttest and evaluation.
BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
