About This Course

As providers, we juggle multiple demands and priorities for our clients and we often forget to consider our own health and well-being. This workshop introduces the concepts of allostatic load and early health deterioration, or weathering. During this session we will explore how heavy stress burdens may impact health in multiple domains. We will discuss the stabilizing response of our nervous system and practice some quick techniques to help us regain balance and maintain well-being.

As with all psychological interventions, please consult a trained mental health professional prior to beginning if you are concerned about any potential adverse reactions

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the connection between the body's responses to stress and the survival brain.
2. Learn and practice 3 stabilizing tools.
