Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a self-management and recovery system developed to provide wellness tools for people in recovery. WRAP has been widely-acclaimed by behavioral health leaders as an effective means to help people reduce the duration and frequency of distressing feelings and troubling behaviors.
Working with trained behavioral health professionals, a person in recovery creates a highly-individualized plan to pursue and maintain wellness, and manage symptoms and stressors and responsibilities. The combination of specific responses and wellness tools promotes empowerment and enables the person in recovery to maintain control of their recovery and wellness. The plan includes making advance decisions and directives to be used at times when symptoms might interfere with clear decision-making. The WRAP provides specific direction and advice to family members and service providers to assist during those times. DBHIDS offers a comprehensive training program to help people develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan.
The 2-day WRAP training provides an orientation to WRAP concepts and gives people an opportunity to develop their own WRAP plan.
The 5-day facilitator training provides a more in-depth study of WRAP and the opportunity to receive certification as WRAP group facilitators.
Both programs are offered throughout the year. For more information, please use the Contact information provided.
