About This Course
The bullying our youth experience often comes from a bias based on a real or perceived difference in someone. That bias can be based on appearance, how someone speaks, racial and cultural differences, a disability, body shape, sexual orientation or gender identity or any other difference. Targets of bias-based bullying had a greater fear of being harmed, avoided school more frequently and had significantly negative effects on their physical, psychological and academic well-being.
- Participants will learn about the types of bias-based bullying;
- Attendees will gain an understanding of the impact of bias-based bullying;
- Participants will gain knowledge about specific methods to intervene in bias-based bullying;
- Attendees will learn prevention strategies and resources.
