About This Course

The frequency, intensity, and duration of cyberbullying and cyber harassment among youth pose a significant threat to their mental health and well-being. Youth who experience cyberbullying talk about the significant impact it has had on their lives, including their relationships with peers, feelings of safety and security, and concerns with their health. This workshop will:

  • Look at the emotional, psychological and social impact of cyberbullying and harassment on youth;
  • Discuss the risk factors for being target by aggressors;
  • Examine the correlation between cyberbullying and harassment and mental health issues;
  • Review supports, strategies and resources to address cyberbullying and harassment.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Participants will learn about cyberbullying and cyber-harassment.
  • Attendees will gain an understanding of the impact on the mental health of youth cyberbullying and cyber-harassment.
  • Participants will gain an understanding of the frequency, intensity and duration of cyberbullying and cyber-harassment.
  • Attendees will learn how to provide assistance to youth involved in sexting and sexual bullying.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU. 
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.  BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.

As an Education Consultant and Trainer, Deborah has provided in-depth bullying and sexual harassment, cyber-bullying, and youth & social media workshops and seminars. She has worked for 35 years in the fields of education and training, focusing on bullying, cyberbullying, sexual harassment, threat assessment and school climate and safety. Deborah previously worked for the PA Department of Education, in the Division of Safe & Drug-Free Schools as a Regional Coordinator, providing guidance and assistance to Student Assistance Programs in the eastern part of the state.
