About This Course

The purpose of this Town Hall is to provide education and resources on how to cope with the adverse impact of gun violence on the Philadelphia community; as well as, offer opportunities for the healing of collective trauma. Through a trauma-informed, person-first approach, our goal is to provide practical tips, techniques and skills for a safe environment where individuals who have been impacted by gun violence can address and more effectively move through the grief process through the use of education and collective trauma interventions.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Highlight youth-centered perspective by giving voice/agency to their experiences and suggestions.
  2. Highlight lessons learned from personal experiences, as well as, address other supplemental crimes and mental health concerns.
  3. Provide practical preventative measure (i.e., safety tips, practical solutions, therapeutic interventions, tools, etc.)

Intended Audience: 

General public, community leaders, advocates, county employees.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive a certificate of attendance.
