About This Course
Marijuana use among youth is the highest it has been in over 30 years. There has been an increase in not only the monthly use of cannabis among kids, but their daily use has grown substantially as well. Ongoing research tells us that the regular use of marijuana can have a substantial impact on physical and mental health, both over the short and long term. This workshop will:
- Address the current research on the use and abuse of marijuana among youth and the effects of that use on mental health;
- Look at the use of vaping devices in marijuana use;
- Examine the physical impact of marijuana use;
- Review education and prevention resources.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn how the use of marijuana impacts the mental health of youth;
- Attendees will gain an understanding of vaping devices with marijuana use;
- Attendees will learn about the impact of marijuana use on the physical health of youth;
- Participants will gain an understanding of how to utilize substance abuse education and prevention resources in working with youth.

Educators, school staff, & behavioral health provider agency staff.

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
