About This Course

The purpose of the presentation is to equip Supervisors with transformative tools to guide Supervisees in providing culturally competent care for BIPOC LGBTQAI+ individuals. In addition, Supervisors will also be better versed in working with supervisees who identify as LGBTQAI+. The course will explore how your identities impact supervision with BIPOC LGBTQAI+ supervisees and clients.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Create an understanding of intersectional identity dynamics and how they impact LGBTQAI+ clients and supervisees
  •  Build stronger supervisory relationships by fostering open, inclusive conversations about identity and lived experience
  •  Identify innovative tools to address bias and promote affirming care
  •  Identify actionable steps to disrupt systemic oppression

BIPOC LGBTQIA+ Supervisors and Supervisees, Behavioral/Mental Health Professionals, Interns

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.  BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
