About This Course
Teaching skills to individuals, either in group or one-to-one, is an essential psychiatric rehabilitation intervention used as part of assisting people to gain and maintain desired rehabilitation goals in targeted environments in the community. This course presents the basics of direct skills teaching, including planning what to teach and deciding how to teach it.
Learning Objectives:
- Define and identify components of a skill
- Compare the difference between Direct Skills Teaching and Skills Training
- Develop skills for teaching in a group setting

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.

Rochelle Reimert is a graduate of Walden University with a master’s degree in Human Services. She has over 25 years of experience in community behavioral health and drug and alcohol services. Rochelle is a skilled trainer and has been a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner since 2007. She is currently an assistant operations director with Salisbury Behavioral Health and is responsible for the oversight of their psychiatric rehabilitation services. Through her work she can promote recovery-oriented principles and practices supporting individuals to be independent in the environments of their choice while gaining stability in their addiction. Rochelle is a strong advocate for mental health and promoter of recovery for all. She is a current member of the board of directors, board secretary, co-chair of the education committee and facilitates several of the course offerings offered by the chapter.
