About This Course
Supporting Survivors of Sexual Violence is an interactive workshop intended to support participants to understand sexual violence, common trauma reactions, violence prevention basics, and best practices when responding to disclosures of violence. Over the course of this training participants will be provided with critical information, space to practice and reflect, and will be given opportunities to envision how to incorporate this training into their everyday work and lives.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to describe the sexual violence continuum and common trauma responses.
- Participants will be able to discuss basic sexual violence prevention strategies.
- Participants will be able to use the BEST method when responding to future disclosures of sexual violence.
- Participants will be able to co-create support networks with survivors of sexual violence.
Intended Audience:
Individuals or organizations that may encounter survivors of sexual violence, including community members or helping and health services professionals.

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.
