About This Course

Life for teens has changed in recent years, with many of our kids facing difficulties and issues that previous generations have not. While some of the issues are the same, digital speech and electronic media have altered the adolescent universe. From mental health issues to concerns of safety to substance use and abuse – teens are facing a combination of challenges that are further complicated by their social media habits and media consumption. This workshop will review the “top ten” challenges our youth are facing, as well as strategies and resources to help address those challenges.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the primary issues impacting the mental health of youth.
  2. Describe how the pandemic, along with other issues such as bullying and harassment have affected the overall health of youth.
  3. List at least two (2) effective responses to the challenges youth face.
