About This Course
Training will present information on the various definitions of trauma, ways traumas are encountered, and trauma’s effects on the mind and body. Common reactions to trauma, along with a review of symptoms of PTSD will also be discussed. Finally, the course will introduce an effective model of treatment for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure therapy.

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

Sandy Capaldi, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, where she serves as the PTSD Training Coordinator. Dr. Capaldi has a variety of clinical experiences with patient populations ranging from children to older adults. She specializes in Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) for PTSD, Exposure and Response Prevention (EX/RP) for OCD, and cognitive-behavioral treatment for trichotillomania, social anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobias, and generalized anxiety.
