Alea Cummings

CVHT Program Coordinator and Lead Therapist

Alea Cummings (she/her) is a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of trauma-focused experience. She provides trauma-focused therapy and court advocacy to trafficked youth in her role as CVHT Program Coordinator and Lead Therapist with the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance, housed at the Philadelphia Safety Collaborative. She provides trauma-focused CBT and EMDR therapies alongside expressive arts and body-centered techniques to empower children, families, and communities to lead successful and fulfilling lives. Alea co-leads the Philadelphia Juvenile Anti-Trafficking Coalition with Kelly Sagastume. Governor Wolf appointed Alea to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Committee. She also participates in NCTSN’s Child Sex Trafficking Group and NCA’s CSEC Collaborative Work Group to create, collate, and enhance training resources for providers. She earned her Master of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania and has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Boston University.
