Jennifer Benjamin
Dr. Jennifer Benjamin, PhD, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor with a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Capella University and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University. As an independent practitioner in the greater Philadelphia area, Dr. Benjamin specializes in working with youth and families facing complex developmental trauma, life-threatening behaviors, chronic medical conditions, and treatment-resistant challenges.
Dr. Benjamin serves as the Associate Director of the Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center, where she oversees continuing education programs, certificate and mentor programs, and curriculum development. Her role also involves researching assessment tools and ensuring the integration of social ecology and family culture into the center’s organizational practices.
Dr. Benjamin holds several certificates of training including, Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy, Global Adherence in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Treatment for Sexually Exploited Children. With a strong background in clinical leadership, Dr. Benjamin previously directed a comprehensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program for youth aged 11 to 18 in Pennsylvania, as well as an in-home systemic family therapy program in Delaware for severely emotionally disturbed youth dealing with life-altering circumstances, practicing ecosystemic structural family therapy (ESFT). In these roles, she was responsible for program implementation, training, systemic supervision, emergency consultation, overseeing doctoral practicum students, parent training, and managing treatment outcomes.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Benjamin has contributed to academia as an adjunct professor in both the Graduate Counseling Program and the Undergraduate Psychology Program at Rosemont College. She worked as an experiential corporate teambuilder and game designer for 10 years with Action Centered Training.
