Stephan K. Long
Associate Director and Behavioral Health Training Specialist
Stephan K. Long has worked in the behavioral health field for several years before his tenure as a behavioral health training specialist and as the Associate Director of BHTEN. His behavioral health involvement includes direct care positions of psycho-social rehab counselor/supervisor, therapist at a Co-Occurring D/O day program (MISA), vocational counselor, outpatient therapist for children and adult clients and as a forensic case manager. Stephan also brings his experience of targeted case management where he had served as the children’s/adult supervisor and director for seven years in a Philadelphia based mental health/intellectual disAbility agency. He has a B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Dayton (Dayton, O.) and a Master of Arts in student personnel services from Rowan College of New Jersey. Stephan has received training in various crisis management techniques and is presently a masters-level certified instructor through the Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. He has presented to both mental health and drug and alcohol professionals at state and national conferences on the topics of “Training Case Managers,” “Crisis Management”, “Recovery”, “Cultural Diversity/Cultural Disparities”, “Professionalism in the Workplace” and “Mental Health First Aid”.
