About This Course

This workshop addresses the collision of sexting, sexual bullying, social media and the resulting mental health issues and legal consequences. Participants will review the most current research and trends focusing on youth’s involvement with technology, sexting and sexual bullying. Digital speech allows our youth to send images via texting and a wide variety of popular apps. Exactly how involved are youth in sexting? How prevalent is sexual bullying among adolescents and pre-teens?

Learning Objectives: 

• Understand the impact of cyberbullying and sexting on youth.
• Recognize the possible legal consequences of engaging in cyberbullying and sexting.
• Utilize the provided protocols and resources to identify, investigate and intervene with cyberbullying and sexting among youth.

Educators, school staff, & behavioral health provider agency staff.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.
