About This Course

This introductory Tier II workshop is for Health and Human Services professionals to learn about the dynamics of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), how these dynamics could affect individuals’ access and compliance with services, and which trauma-informed strategies professionals could use to support people who are being abused by their partners.

***Registered participants for IPV for Health and Human Services Professionals and Addressing Abusive Behaviors will also be given access to the Tier I e-Learning course, Intimate Partner Violence Overview, which should be completed prior to the training date.

 

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Identify at least four examples of abusive behaviors and how they can affect individuals and families;
  2. Explain four barriers or reasons for not ending an abusive relationship;
  3. Recognize four ways in which the abuse could affect the survivor and their ability to access mental health and housing services;
  4. Explain three trauma-informed strategies to support survivors of intimate partner violence; and
  5. List at least three specific services for victims/survivors of IPV in Philadelphia.

DBHIdS and OHS staff and providers, behavioral health service provider staff, and other human services and community based organization staff

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

 

Credit Statements:

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU. 
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.  BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
