About This Course
This workshop explores the effects of technology on parenting, education, and child development, discussing both the benefits and challenges. Participants will learn about the positive roles that digital tools can play in enhancing learning and communication, as well as the myriad of risks such as exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, impact on mental health and screen time issues. The workshop will discuss practical strategies for agency staff, educators, and caregivers to navigate technology use effectively, set healthy boundaries, and foster digital literacy in young people.

- Explore the impact of social media and the online world
- Discuss guidance and strategies on healthy technology use.

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

As an Education Consultant and Trainer, Deborah has provided in-depth bullying and sexual harassment, cyber-bullying, and youth & social media workshops and seminars. She has worked for 35 years in the fields of education and training, focusing on bullying, cyberbullying, sexual harassment, threat assessment and school climate and safety. Deborah previously worked for the PA Department of Education, in the Division of Safe & Drug-Free Schools as a Regional Coordinator, providing guidance and assistance to Student Assistance Programs in the eastern part of the state.
