About This Course

The concept of human rights-based approaches is demanding more attention in behavioral health practice. This presentation will introduce participants to ways to enhance behavioral health practice with human rights theory and practice. The overall goal is to introduce new directors to human rights-based approaches to behavioral health.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Participants will understand how a human rights-based approach differs from a traditional needs-based approach.
  2. Participants will increase their skills and knowledge to include human rights paradigms in behavioral health practice.
  3. Participants will apply a human rights lens to behavioral health clients as individuals whose human rights may have been violated.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.  BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
