About This Course

This workshop introduces Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction tools and outlines how regular and consistent practice of these skills can support well-being and expand our resilience as providers in the helping profession. It is usually easier to offer compassion to our clients, friends, or colleagues. When it comes to providing that same type of compassion to ourselves, we often find self-judgment and self-recrimination instead. Exploring the work of Dr. Kristin Neff, we will learn and practice several self-compassion exercise and techniques for us in our daily lives.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe self-compassion and self-forgiveness and how they support greater well-being.
  2. Use several self-compassion and self-forgiveness practices to expand our capacity for self-acceptance and self-kindness
