About This Course

Problem gambling can be especially dangerous among special populations. One of these populations are those who are serving, or who have served, our country. This presentation looks to examine the reasons that problem gambling can be dangerous for veterans. We will also discuss signs of problem gambling and look at the resources that are available ofr those dealing with gambling issues.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Identify signs of problem gambling in veterans.
  2. Explain the reasons problem gambling can be especially dangerous for the veteran population.
  3. List resources available to help prevent and treat problem gambling in veterans.

 

Intended Audience: 

Behavioral Health staff that work with people in the aging or veteran population.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive a certificate. All CEU certificates will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub once you have completed your evaluation.

As a Prevention Specialist Joshua has taught classroom lessons K-12 and college age, community education sessions, represents Compass Mark at local health fairs, and works with various community partners to champion the cause of prevention! Most recently Joshua has joined the Student Assistance Program training team at Compass Mark.
