(WEBINAR) Supporting LGBTQ+ service users as a LGBTQ+ Provider: A training for Queer and Trans Identifying Providers

This is a 1.5hr training for LGBTQ+ identified professionals who already have a solid understanding of LGBTQ+ fundamentals and experience. This training will rely heavily on audience participation and insight with the facilitation principle that those with lived experience are the experts in the room. It will involve participants mapping the barriers to care that they see LGBTQ folks experiencing in the services they offer and brainstorming solutions to overcome those barriers. Additionally, there will be space provided for networking and case consultation. Participants will leave the training with an LGBTQ+ specific Philadelphia resource referral manual.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Network and exchange ideas among other LGBTQ+ identified professionals.
  2. Engage in collaborative problem solving and solution making.
  3. Utilize the Philadelphia LGBTQ+ specific resource referral manual.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive a certificate. All certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

Quinn Pellerito (they) holds the position of the LGBTQ+ Education Specialist at WOAR – Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence. They collaborate on the lotus. program which offers trauma informed care and LGBTQ+ affirming training to providers. Quinn’s goal is to create a broad resource network of providers in Philadelphia that are able to serve the needs of LGBTQ+ victims and survivors of sexual violence. Quinn co-faciliates the LGBTQ+ sexual violence support group at WOAR as well as offers healthy relationship and consent workshops to LGBTQ+ community. Quinn looks forward to launching the lotus. peer to peer transformative justice sexual violence support program.
