About This Course
This 2hr training is for providers who already have an understanding of LGBTQ+ fundamentals and are looking to deepen their ability to serve transgender clients. In this workshop, we will review the basics of trans identity and experience, cover some common barriers to receiving services for trans folks, and focus on creating more accessible services for the trans and gender non-conforming community. In this training providers will have an opportunity to practice skills through case scenarios and pronoun practice. They will additionally receive a Philadelphia specific LGBTQ+ referral manual. We encourage taking LGBTQ+ Awareness as a prerequisite to this course.
Learning Objectives:
- Develop an understanding of trans identity and experience.
- Recognize barriers to care transgender folks experience.
- Engage in best practices through case scenarios and group discussion.
Intended Audience:
Behavioral health staff who have a who already have an understanding of LGBTQ+ fundamentals and are looking to deepen their ability to serve transgender clients.

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. Certificates of Attendance will be available to download from the Learning Hub once the evaluation is successfully submitted.
